This is a photo of true diversity. They all came from diverse backgrounds to sit in the seat of the most powerful office in the world - the office of President of the United States. And they all served two terms.
They came from diverse political parties. They were born from diverse races and I’m sure held diverse political views.
Love them or hate them they were mature enough to lay aside differences to honor a man that certainly deserved honor - Congressman John Lewis.
We can disagree but let’s respect each other enough, even in disagreement, to refrain from name calling. Let’s put our egos and personal agendas aside for the good of the people living in this great country...the one we claim to love so much.
I expect to hear name calling and see bullying played out on playgrounds but not among those with the tremendous responsibility of leading us through these perilous times when so many lives are at stake.
Prophetically if we continue to stoke the fires of division this nation is headed for a fall. And it will rain on the just as well as the unjust.
Look at ancient Babylon, Assyria, Greece, and the Roman Empire. They all dominated the world scene in their time until pride, lust for power and internal division tore them apart.
It’s time to pray daily for ALL leaders. Exercise your right to vote and display love to everyone. With God’s help we can turn this thing around.
(1 Peter 4:17)
“For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God”?
God is not pleased!
